The Seminole County Public School System is among the highest rated school systems in the nation. Over 80% of all high school graduates go on to pursue higher education in the form of two or four year degrees or advanced technical training.
The district has spent more than $450 million on renovation and construction of new schools in the past ten years. In the past five years, more than $35 million has been spent on technology for the schools and classrooms.

Update:
Newsweek reports that all Seminole County Public Schools' 4-year High Schools rank in the Top 5% of the nation for the third consecutive year!
The Challenge Index, devised by Jay Mathews, creates a ratio of the number of Advanced Placement (AP) and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) tests taken by all students at a public high school in May 2006 divided by the number of graduating seniors for that same school year. All schools on the “top 1,300” list have an index of at least 1.000, indicating that at least as many tests were given as there were graduates for that school. By this calculation, these schools are in the top 5% of public high schools. The list appeared in print and online at: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18757087/site/newsweek/ in late May and early June.
